The Balafon (also known as the balaphon or balaphone) is a traditional West African percussion instrument that resembles a xylophone.
Created by Senegalese balafon builders, each balafon includes wooden notes and calabash gourd resonators.
Materials: Wood, gourds, cotton cord.
The entire piece is lashed with cotton cord. This beautifully tuned African musical instrument is as inviting to the eye as to the hand. Mallets included.
